What weather data is used by Weather the Trip?

Weather the Trip uses a proprietary Global Forecasting System implementation to serve weather data globally.

For customers in the United States you may also choose to use the National Digital Forecast Database weather model. To change which weather model you would like to use navigate to the Settings menu and click on “Weather service”.

All weather data is served via the Weather the Trip server and no tracking of your usage of this weather data is collected or monitored.

What directions data is used by Weather the Trip?

Weather the Trip works with premium Google API services to serve directions data to you. This premium service provides you with the best available routing and traffic data to enable serving you the most accurate weather forecasts of your road trip.

All Google API directions calls are made from the Weather the Trip server and then sent to your device. Your directions data is not tracked or monitored by Weather the Trip.

If I uninstall the app is my subscription also cancelled?

Your subscription to the app is handled by either: Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Uninstalling the app will not impact your subscription. You are able to uninstall the app and on reinstall your subscription will be recognized.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Android:
Open the app, Tap the gear icon in the upper right hand corner, Tap the “Manage subscription” item to be redirected to your phones app store where you are able to update your subscription

iOS:
Open the app, Tap the close button to see the map, Tap the gear icon in the upper right hand corner, Tap the “Manage subscription” item to be redirected to your phones app store where you are able to update your subscription

What if I want to use a 24 hour clock instead of seeing AM/PM?

Android:
Open the app, Tap the gear icon in the upper right hand corner, Update the “Clock type” option

iOS:
Open the app, Tap the close button to see the map, Tap the gear icon in the upper right hand corner, Update the “Clock type” option

Does the app support Metric?

Android:

What does the “Storm chaser” option do?

The “Storm chaser” option sets the “Recommendation” mode to return the worst time to depart on your road trip while considering the time frames you are interested in.
